AMPIP seeks to attract all the industrial parks in Mexico

Industrial parks are one of the sectors that benefit the most from the high demand for real estate spaces generated by the relocation of foreign companies to the country or nearshoring, which also creates great challenges for Mexican infrastructure.

Given this, Claudia Esteves, general director of the Mexican Association of Private Industrial Parks (AMPIP), commented that the association works on projects to attract the attention of investors to Mexico. With the new Safe Industrial Park badge, investors will be able to parks in Mexico that have security protocols, Estevez said in an interview for T21.

AMPIP has launched some surveys regarding ESG (environmental, social and governance) criteria, as there are significant challenges for the certification of industrial parks in terms of sustainability. Currently, 47 new industrial parks are under construction in new municipalities, which, according to Esteves, speaks of geographic diversification.

In this sense, in terms of promotion, AMPIP is working on a new video about Mexico where the diversity of regions and the benefits of industrial parks will be shown.

The association seeks to improve representativeness by covering all the parks nationwide. Currently, 430 industrial parks are affiliated and house more than 3,700 companies, 90% of the country's real estate developers.

Another issue to be addressed this year would be energy supply, one of the main challenges facing the Mexican infrastructure. "We are going to carry out various studies to identify much more clearly the problems that must be addressed so as not to speak in general, but in particular in the cases that may concern us," Esteves indicated.
