Amazon Web Services Mexico (AWS) plans to open a new local hub in Querétaro at the beginning of 2023, with the aim of increasing bandwidth for its clients, which is part of the company's expansion plan, which contemplates reaching 33 cities around the world.

It is worth mentioning that Querétaro currently hosts two Amazon edge nodes, the only ones in the country.

Luis Velasco, country director of AWS Mexico, explained that a local hub houses hybrid infrastructure to provide computing, storage and network services; everything related to data management in the cloud.

For a few years, Querétaro has stood out in the development of real estate for technology processes. In fact, Amazon Mexico is not the only one that has found value in this area of Bajío.

According to figures from Newmark, state services will be valued globally at $48.9 billion in 2020. Trends point to this number rising to $105.6 billion by 2026.

The proximity between Mexico City and Querétaro, also in line with Monterrey, allows lowering the latency of the services offered to a very significant amount of the population, which is why the Querétaro entity is the preferred place to establish data centers Said Velasco.

But Amazon's plans in Mexico do not contemplate reaching only Querétaro. According to the manager, AWS will also open new offices in Guadalajara and Monterrey.

Although the investment amounts for each of the projects were not disclosed, it is expected that these will be carried out during the first quarter of 2023, although for the time being, the company only has corporate and operational offices in the City of Mexico.
