
Amazon Mexico reported that its new logistics center in the municipality of Umán, Yucatán, registers 35% progress and is expected to be in operation in a few months.
According to the master plan, this work includes a total warehouse area of 19,200 square meters, as well as an expansion area of 9,840 square meters.
This building is being erected on a 78,741 square meter lot, it will have tilt-up walls, concrete floors, a roof and a fire protection system.
It will have a main building, 2 booths for normal vehicles and a third for heavy vehicles; 30 platforms and access ramps, offices, machine room, among other areas. It also includes an area for the expansion of this project.
On the other hand, Amazón México explained that this logistics center will allow Yucatecan artisans to sell their textile products, cosmetics and food online in other markets of the country and the world.
To date, workshops have been given to sell on Amazon, training a total of 284 companies, of which 60% are from the Food and Beverages sector, 25% are from the Textile sector and the remaining 15% belong to various sectors, such as handicrafts, cosmetics, cleaning and hygiene products, among others.
Yucatán has also managed to become an important beacon for the corporate real estate market.
According to an analysis by the Solili platform, the average monthly rental price of corporate spaces in this city is $ 19.87 per square meter until January 2021.
This rental price is only below what Mexico City records on average, which is $ 21.52 per square meter per month.
Corridors such as Cabo Norte, in Mérida, the monthly rent price per square meter last January registered a cost of 21.08 dollars per square meter, very close to the average monthly rent cost per square meter in Mexico City, which is located at $ 21.52.
