Caiiao, the logistics company in charge of worldwide shipments from Aliexpress, announced the opening of a new distribution center for Mexico that will be located in Tultepec, State of Mexico, 30 km from the Benito Juárez airport.

The area is considered strategic by the logistics company, due to its communication routes, which will allow it to serve its customers throughout the country faster, with shipments from China to Mexico in just 12 business days.

This center is the ninth in the world for the distribution of Alibaba Group brands, it will also be the first in our country and in all of America.

In addition to Aliexpress, orders from other firms belonging to the Chinese consortium, such as Tmall and TaoBao, will be distributed to a lesser extent. So far, Alibaba has not detailed the total investment or the square meters occupied by its new HUB.

Cainiao reported that Mexico is one of the markets in the continent in which the demand for its trading platforms, such as Aliexpress, has grown the most. Shipments increased 50% between January and March 2022, compared to the same period of the previous year, so it becomes key to reduce time and improve deliveries through systematization.

To achieve this, the HUB will feature automated sorting and management technologies that will improve package processing by up to 10%.

It should be noted that the distribution company has promoted the expansion of the air cargo network to make the performance of its supply chain more efficient, where it operates eight weekly charter flights from China to Latin America, which link Hong Kong, São Paulo and Santiago.

"There is a high response from cross-border trade between China and Latin America," said Davis Zhao, Head of Global Logistics Solutions at Cainiao.

Among the best-selling products on its various e-commerce platforms are everyday items, clothing, and consumer electronics.
