Due to the fact that after the pandemic, more and more companies, mainly Asian, seek to relocate as close as possible to their market, which is North America, Aguascalientes has a portfolio of 45 new investment projects that together add up to 3.8 billion dollars and the potential generation of 7,500 workers.
The head of the Secretariat of Economic Development, Science and Technology of Aguascalientes (Sedecyt) Manuel Alejandro González explained that at least 80% of the projects are related to the automotive sector and the other 20% with items such as electronics, information technology , logistics, agribusiness and the pharmaceutical sector.

Nearshoring, with the reestablishment of supply chains, has allowed the automotive industry to position itself in Aguascalientes, boosting its exponential growth as it had been before the pandemic, Gonzalez told El Economista.
Interested investors have even approached new assemblers, although Sedecyt considers the installation of supply chains more convenient. Large-scale projects are coming, semiconductor projects that can be established in Aguascalientes and we believe that it can be a good trigger for this new era of the electronics industry”, he stressed.
González Martínez maintained that the entity is already working on the expansion of the electrical infrastructure, for which, in recent days, representatives of the Federal Electricity Commission and private investment funds held a meeting to build the electrical substations that are needed.

"Regarding water, we bring a very important macro project, the change of water for an irrigation district to the city, to the industrial zone and return treated water for agricultural use and, on the other hand, the use of treated water in industry ", said. Currently in Aguascalientes 95% of the residual water is treated but only 15% is reused, so the state government plans to increase the percentage of reuse of treated water.
Regarding the scarce availability of industrial spaces throughout the country, Manuel Alejandro González commented that Aguascalientes has 25 industrial parks and there are two projects under construction that will add 200 hectares of industrial infrastructure to the inventory.
