Estafeta will invest 1,950 million pesos (mp) during 2021 to increase its capacity through the construction of a hub in the Metropolitan Area of Mexico City (ZMCDMX), which it expects to launch in April 2022, also to acquire 1,190 new vehicles.

Investment represents an increase of 135% compared to 2020 or 830 million pesos, and responds largely to the boom in electronic commerce in the country, which the pandemic drove to growth of 81%; which will also generate employment opportunities.

Another part of the resources will be used to incorporate a new aircraft to the company's fleet, the opening of five operating centers and the expansion of another 15, as well as the construction of an automated hub with a surface area of 10,800 meters squares, which in a first phase will attend 18 thousand services per hour.
In addition, the firm will seek to increase its network of contact points to 3,000 units, relying on small businesses, and also plans to introduce lockers so that users can go for their products.

According to the Solili real estate platform, although during the year there was a stagnation in the construction of industrial spaces in the Valley of Mexico, for the last quarter of the year the beginning of the construction of 150 thousand square meters is reported, the area being north where more developers expand or modify their inventories to suit demand.

In the short term, it is expected that the development and growth of new industrial zones will reach municipalities such as Zumpango and Huehuetoca, in the State of Mexico - where there is still land - and thus investment and infrastructure plans will be triggered.

Also, Tultitlán and Tepotzotlán are some corridors that have registered construction in the last quarter of 2020 and it is expected that more projects will be developed in that area in the future.
