DHL Supply Chain Mexico launches new operating strategy

In the search to find operational efficiencies and translate them into cost reduction for its customers, DHL Supply Chain will create a network of networks in Mexico based on its digital capabilities, infrastructure and the numerous movements of goods in the different sectors it serves. throughout the national territory.

This supply chain division of the German group has been in charge of building in recent years a simultaneous logistics network for each sector served, including its own control tower: consumption, with its Perfect Lane service for consolidated low-volume cargo; aftermarket, for the automotive sector; controlled temperature, for the pharmaceutical industry and health care; as well as hazmat, for hazardous materials.

This synergy aims to upload in a single doubly articulated (full) tractor, for example, different multi-sector or multi-temperature goods that travel from its different operating centers, which in the country add up to 11 multi-sector hubs (Tijuana, Hermosillo, Torreón, Monterrey, Guadalajara, Mexico City-Macrocentro –Here they count 3-, Puebla, Villahermosa and Mérida) that deliver in more than 10 thousand points in the country.

According to Solili, during the first months of the year the corridors of Cuautitlán, Tultitlan, Tepotzotlán (CTT), stand out not only for concentrating the largest number of transactions during the first quarter of the year, but for concentrating the new supply and the start of new projects.

The spaces occupied in these corridors represent 80% of the total gross absorption in the Mexico City market during the period January-March 2021. This was mainly driven by logistics, e-commerce, food and pharmaceutical companies.

A total of 185 thousand square meters class A completed construction during the first quarter of the year in the CTT area and it is expected that in the coming months new speculative projects as well as "Built to suit", that is, made to measure, begin construction in the area.
