Mexico City registers high vacancy of office space

The COVID-19 pandemic has impacted the real estate market.

In Mexico City, in areas such as Paseo de la Reforma and Santa Fe you can see signs for sale and rent in buildings that until last year housed offices, which show the negative balance that the health crisis has left in the real estate sector .

According to the Solili platform, the corporate real estate broker in Santa Fehas a vacancy of 346 thousand square meters of offices, that is, around 22.2 percent.

At the end of 2020, the vacancy of offices in Mexico City, in square meters, was 2.2 million, which represents 46.6% more than the figure registered in 2019, which amounted to 1.5 million square meters.
