Biva officially launches its FTSE-BIVA index

The Institutional Securities Exchange (Biva) officially launched its flagship index, the FTSE-BIVA, on Tuesday, February 13, which seeks to represent the behavior of the Mexican securities market and its different sectors. According to the stock exchange, the index is initially composed of 57 large, medium and small companies that have their shares listed on the Mexican Stock Exchange (BMV). The sample includes 23 high-capitalization stations that represent about 83% of the total volume; 19 medium with 12.5% and 15 low with around 5 percent.

In addition, it includes five investment trusts in real estate (fibers), as it is a representative sector of the Mexican economy.

"All the companies listed in the country - currently numbering 149 companies - will be considered and will not have a fixed number of members, will increase as the stock market grows, adding to the broadcasters that meet the size and liquidity requirements," he explained.
