
The Hofusan industrial park, which began operations in 2015 in the municipality of Salinas Victoria, currently houses nine Chinese companies and about four more are getting ready to start operations at the end of this year and early 2022; Among the companies already installed and those that are about to be incorporated are from the household appliance, auto parts, hardware, tools, furniture and a synthetic turf manufacturer sectors.
César Santos Cantú, president of the executive committee of Hofusan Industrial Park, said that the four companies would be starting between December 2021 and January 2022.
The investment would amount to about 300 million dollars, in addition to having a pipeline of another good number of Chinese companies that are in negotiation, whose investment could amount to 1.5 billion dollars, estimates that they have for the next few years.

The businessman attributed this Chinese investment boom in Nuevo León to the trade war between China and the United States, which has led manufacturers and industrialists from the Asian country to consider a short-term strategic measure to “get around” the increases in tariffs between both countries, opting to install production plants in Mexico, and Nuevo León has infrastructure and qualified labor, in addition to its privileged geographical position, which makes it attractive for Asians.
For example, there is a company that has 40 percent of the market for pumps to water the garden in the United States, and when a 25 percent tariff was imposed, it decided to settle in Salinas Victoria, Nuevo León.
According to Solili, Monterrey and Saltillo as a whole reached almost 70 thousand square meters of industrial demand during April 2021, which represents about 15% at the national level, taking advantage of the instrumentation of the T-MEC, where the closures they correspond mostly to the speculative market.
