Inmobiliare | August 16, 2021 |

INEGI presented its Monthly Indicator of Industrial Activity by State for the month of April 2021.

The indicator shows how the country's economic activity has changed within the secondary sector, including the construction, mining, power generation and manufacturing industries.

In addition, the institute showed that 30 states presented annual progress according to seasonally adjusted figures.

The three entities with the highest growth in the industrial sector were presented in Puebla with 106%, Aguascalientes with 95.7% and Coahuila with 73.9%. They are followed by Guanajuato with 69.3%, Guerrero with 66.9% and Querétaro with 65.7%.

Together these six entities represent almost 20% of the total industrial activity in the country.

Puebla and Aguascalientes showed the broadest growth in industrial activity, although they were not the ones that drove the industrial recovery of the country because, although they are the fastest growing, their contributions to the national IMAI are limited.

Puebla obtained 2.62 points, while Aguascalientes only contributed 1.14 points to the real variation of industrial activity in Mexico.

However, Nuevo León and Coahuila are the states that are driving the industrial recovery, although they showed a lower rate of growth with respect to their size. Nuevo León registered 5.08 percentage points while Coahuila second with 3.27 points, although the latter market contracted by 0.4%.
