13 foreign investment projects were completed in 2021 in Aguascalientes

In 2021, the state of Aguascalientes was able to complete 13 foreign direct investment projects such as Bosch, Valero, Fanuc, Kurabe, Autoliv, among others.

Martín Orozco Sandoval, governor of the entity, said that only during this year, and despite the crisis as a result of the pandemic, new projects were confirmed that will reinforce the development of the industry in the region.

He pointed out that these commitments mean better employment opportunities, as well as their insertion in industries mainly dedicated to the development of technology, in companies from countries such as Germany, Japan, Belgium, France and the United States, which have relied on the conditions of Aguascalientes , as well as its highly trained professionals.

In this sense, according to official information from the Ministry of Economy, as of the third quarter of 2021, Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) in Aguascalientes reached 4,138.1 million dollars during this management, exceeding by 38% what was registered in the previous six-year period.

"Aguascalientes continues to stand out at the national level for its attractive conditions for the arrival of new companies, which have made possible a solid and fluid economic dynamics in the state," he explained.

For his part, Manuel Alejandro González Martínez, Secretary of Economic Development (SEDEC), announced that the largest increases in foreign capital attracting come from Japan and the United States, with 45.1 and 44.9%, equivalent to 2,509.9 and 946.0 million dollars, respectively.

It should be noted that Japanese investment registers the highest participation of FDI in the entity, representing 60.7% of the total in this administration and that also became the main destination of Japanese investments in the country.

The amount of new investments in these five years amounts to 1,029.3 million dollars, exceeding the 724.1 million dollars of the previous administration, and also increasing by 37% the amount invested by the manufacturing industry during the current administration.
